Eveli Torent was a painter and illustrator who today is little known but who nevertheless had a surprising personality. His career began in the early twentieth century in Els Quatre Gats, the epicenter of Catalan modernism. There he rubbed shoulders with Picasso, Carles Casgemas, Joaquim Mir and Hermen Anglada Camarassa. Torent lived in Paris and New York, where he was closely linked to Freemasonry. Now the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is hosting an exhibition that rediscover this figure and presents his illustrations and decorative art to the public.
