Museu Geològic del Seminari de Barcelona

The museum's holdings comprise some of the most important paleontological specimens of invertebrates, and these are on display in the "Exhibition Hall", where fossils of animals and plants from the Paleozoic to the Cenozoic era are exhibited. In 1999, the Cardenal Carles Gallery opened. It houses a permanent exhibition which, under the slogan Know Your Land, seeks to develop a keen educational interest in matters concerning the natural sciences.

The museum's collections now comprise almost 90,000 fossils from every geological period. The documents used to classify and study the specimens are now housed in a specialised library of 15,000 volumes. The Museu Geològic also has a laboratory for the preparation of fossil specimens received by the museum, and a historical archive which is used by scientific researchers from around the world.
